As a person who takes the road less traveled, every painting is an experiment, an exercise in visual problem solving. The goal is to create a harmonious composition of variation, texture, movement, light and shadow, repetition, and balance; similar to a musical composition.
Tip: Never be afraid to see through the chaos to the beauty of the subject.
The sampling of these portfolio works is a variety of transparent watercolor work and textural acrylic paintings. I enjoy working in a series of paintings as I explore the mediums.
