I have been creating in one form or another since I was a young girl, receiving my BFA at Drake University. A career in commercial interior design kept me busy, but also kept me from creating art.
My first and foremost love is watercolor, and I also do acrylics and oils. I find merits and joy in using each medium, doing more whimsical and abstract work with acrylic. I find oils work well for me in plein air work, and somehow I am always pulled back to watercolor.
I look for interesting subjects in people and places and enjoy adding life, color and character to everyday subjects. My grandchildren are some of my favorite subjects, and I always have a camera close at hand to capture all the amazing places we have traveled in our country and abroad. I love representing them in my art and sharing them with others.
